The Development Learning and Knowledge Management (DLKM) Component in the third phase has been implemented under two sub-components of (1) Policy Consultation & Knowledge Management (PCKM), (2) Communication and Internal Learning.

Policy Consultation and Knowledge Management Sub-Component

The policy gap studies on the selected topics are still going on at federal and regional levels. In relation to this at federal level, a study entitled “Financial Intermediation in pastoral areas” is identified and has got no objection “from the World Bank. The selection of firm is on progress.

 Concerning regions, Somali region has identified one policy gap study to be conducted in collaboration with JigJiga University. The title of the study is “Livestock marketing systems challenges in Ethiopian Somali Regional state, from a policy perspective”. Currently, Jijiga University has finished the field work and writing up of the draft document is on progress. Similarly, Afar region has identified one policy study entitled “livestock marketing system in Afar region”. The study will be conducted in collaboration with Semera University. The proposal was sent to the World Bank for “no objection”, and was recommended to amend the proposal. Accordingly, Semera University has sent the revised proposal and it is again sent to the World Bank for no objection clearance. For More .......
